79th Annual Meeting - June, 2011
US Conference of Mayors
The United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) held its 79th Annual Meeting on June 17 – June 20, 2011 in Baltimore, Maryland.  During the six-day event, Strauss Radio Strategies, Inc. booked national and local radio interviews for 44 mayors from throughout the country. During the interviews, the mayors discussed pressing national issues, such as immigration, job growth, and clean energy. The mayors also discussed how these issues would influence policies in their own cities.

Strauss Radio Strategies set up total of 106 interviews for the mayors on-site in Baltimore. Interviews were done with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villariagosa, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee, among many others.

Interview coverage reached 20 national outlets, 21 statewide news networks, two regional news networks, and 63 local radio stations for a total of 29,343 radio outlet hits throughout the United States. The interviews were heard by at least 41,035,600 people nationwide (based on the latest data from Arbitron).

If one were to pay for equivalent advertising time for the interviews, which amounted to a total of 1,060 airtime minutes (over 17 hours) at the average 60-second spot rate of $1,040 for these outlets, it would have cost a total of $1,102,400.  In other words, this radio tour reached over 29 million listeners and is valued at more than $1,100,000.
